Zelma Taylor Copeland, age 89 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at U. T. Medical Center. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and former member of Graystone Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. She was the Office Administrator for TN Press Association for over 25 years, graduate of Maryville High School and attended U. T. Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her husband, John Clarence Copeland; son, Steven Copeland; parents, Benton and Frances Taylor; sister, Frances Taylor; brothers, Wilson and Harold Taylor. Survivors include her sons, Richard Copeland of Maryville, Michael Copeland and wife Betty of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Frances Taylor; grandchildren, Michael Copeland and wife Elizabeth of Murray, KY, Courtney Black and husband Travis of Memphis, Leighann Madden and husband Traver of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Hadley Black and Wiley Madden; step grandchildren, Adam and Scott Lawson, Rebecca, Camden, and Elizabeth Copeland; god granddaughter, Tammy Parton; god great granddaughter, C. J. Parton; nieces and nephews, Kay Taylor, Ann Cole, Rochelle Runion, Tom Taylor and wife Nan, Ken Taylor and wife Debbie; caregiver Debbie Smith. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Amy Probst officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway United Methodist Church, 309 E. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37804.
