William J. Gallagher - age 76 of Alcoa died Saturday April 21, 2007 at his home. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and member of Green Meadow Country Club. Mr. Gallagher was a carpenter and a bridge builder and a member of the local #1456 Dock Builders and Bridge Builders Union. Survivors include his wife, Fran Gallagher of Alcoa; daughter, Denise Hurley of Madisonville; sons, Tom Gallagher of New Mexico, John Polyak of Florida, Wink Polyak of New York, and Steven Polyak of Maryville; grandchildren, Heather Williams, Kate Smith, William Joseph Hurley, Denise O’Dell, Nikita, Trey, Jean, Chase, and Hunter Polyak; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Haley and D.J.; mother-in-law, Millie Barto of Alcoa; sisters-in-law, Sister Juanita, Janice Winston, and Trish Kantrowitz; very special friends, Gloria Kiefer, and Joyce Smith; many special friends from Green Meadow Country Club and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice and Dr. John Cowan. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald L. Longmire officiating. The entombment service will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
