William (Bill) Roddy age 78, Ten Mile, died peacefully at home Friday, October 26, 2018. He was born and raised in Maryville, TN, graduated from UT, and lived all over the country. Bill loved his family, friends, dogs, and horses. He was retired from the United States Air Force and proudly served his country in Vietnam. In retirement, he enjoyed researching great grocery deals, finding anything on sale, collecting treasuresof all shapes and sizes, caring for all his animals, watching the Vols, and being the best armchair contestant on The Price Is Right. He returned (from Texas) to East TN several years ago to spend more time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia Roddy, and son, Thad Roddy. Those left to miss him are his wife, Glynda, son Tommy, daughters Debra (Billy) Smith, Robin (Richie) Young, Lynn (Jerry) Lambert, Tina (Steven) Reed, Randi Roddy, step-daughter Lisa (Gary) Lancaster of Texas, and brothers Jerry (Vicki) Roddy and Lowell (Sondra) Roddy. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank his sweet neighbors in Ten Mile, TN, for their years of love and care, and the kind and respectful Meigs and McMinn Counties EMS responders. His dogs Sarah, Cissy, and Shadow will miss watching TV, getting the mail, riding to the store with him, and sharing popsicles with him. Friends may call at their convenience Tuesday and Wednesday between 8:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Bill will be buried with military honors Thursday, November 1, at 11:30 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with Rev. Ronald Longmire officiating.
