William Edwin Dargan, age 92 of Knoxville, died peacefully at his home on December 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Claire Wickham Dargan. Survived by daughter, Lynn Dargan; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Susie Dargan; and partner, Charlotte Justice. He was born in Westwood, New Jersey, October 6, 1922. He was a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from ALCOA after 36 years with positions in Edgewater, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA, Evansville, IN, Geelong, Australia, and Alcoa, TN. He was a veteran of World War II and served three years in the Army Air Corps as an aircraft mechanic with duty in the Pacific theatre. He was a member of the Alcoa Kiwanis, Knoxville American Legion Post 2, and the Smokey Mountain Astronomical Society. Family and friends will meet 1:30 Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for graveside services. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home 982-6812
