William Daniel ''Danny'' Garrett, Sr.

William Daniel Garrett, Sr., Danny, age 65 of Maryville, TN, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2013, at Tennova Healthcare following a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was of the Baptist faith and a member of East Maryville Baptist Church, Maryville, TN. He loved God, his family, and his country. He was a certified electrician, a member of Local Union #760, and retired from TVA. Mr. Garrett is the son of Omalee Garrett of Knoxville, TN, and the late Clarence H. Garrett. In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by the following; infant son, Daniel Wright Garrett; brother, Ronald O. Garrett; mother-in-law, Sue Rogers; and father-in-law, Elmer Rogers. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jan S. Garrett of Maryville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, William Daniel Dan, Jr. and Tammy Garrett; mother, Omalee Garrett of Knoxville, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Bailey of Maynardville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Selina Garrett of Powell, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Al Clark of Clinton, TN; several special aunts and uncles; and many special nieces and nephews. Until his serious illness, Danny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, boating, and golfing. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him. He was a good, honest, and fun-loving man. He was always kind and courteous to everyone. At Mr. Garretts request, family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Clarks Grove Cemetery, Maryville, TN, for a graveside service with Rev. Chad Erickson officiating.
