William Crowder Shamblin

William Crowder Shamblin, age 90 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born May 15, 1928, in Calderwood, TN, the son of William and Margaret Birchfiel Shamblin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Geraldine Nelson Shamblin; sisters, Meredith Jordan, Edna Margaret King; sisters-in-law, Penny Nelson, Judy Shamblin, Lillian Hurst; brothers-in-law, Allan Jordan, Doby Nelson, Sim Hurst and Hubert Burns. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Holder and husband Bill Holder, Becky Deck and husband Steve Deck; two grandchildren, Tammy Simpson and husband Kenny Simpson, Darren Holder and wife Amy; step-granddaughter, Shelby Deck Kirby and husband Mike Kirby; four great-grandchildren, Garrett Blair, Dawson Simpson, Dalton Holder and Courtney Holder; great step-grandson, Gary Kirby; brothers, Vernon Shamblin and Carl Shamblin; sister-in-law, Helen Burns; several nieces and nephews; his best furry friends, Lucky and Ozzy. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Maryville; retired from ALCOA in 1990 with 46 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was an avid horseman, he loved his horses, dogs and his family. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and then proceed to Grandview Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service with Rev.
