William B. Wilson

William B. Wilson, age 93 of Maryville, TN, died September 3, 2008. He was born on February 23, 1915, in Sparta, TN. He attended Maryville College and graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Engineering in 1940. After more than 40 years of service, he retired from the General Electric Company where he was a world recognized expert in the field of power generation. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Scott Wilson. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sara W. and Jeff C. Jacobus of Maryville and Elizabeth W. and David C. Henderson of Punta Gorda, FL. He has two grandsons and their wives, G. Scott and Mary W. Francis of Roswell, GA and W. Paul and Stacey W. Francis of Crown Point, IN, and four great-grandchildren. There will be a private family graveside service and burial in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the William B. Wilson Scholarship Endowment in the College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
