Willard R. Benson

Benson, Willard R. age 88 of Maryville passed away Saturday February 2, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Laurel Bank Baptist Church. He was retired from Alcoa after 44 years of service and a member of the 25 year service club. He was a veteran of WWII. The family expresses a special thanks to his faithful care givers who loved and cared for him. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Benson, parents, Walter and Molly Benson, father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Erie Dunlap, brothers Newell Romines, Ernest Benson, Jim Benson, Loy Benson and Wade Benson. Grandsons Joel and Tony Thompson, great grandson Dylan Bell. He is survived by his daughters and sons in laws Carolyn and Gerald Thompson, Betty and Jerry Holden, Janet and Mike Hunt ans son and daughter in law Bill and Rhonda Benson. Grandchildren, Jodi and Wendell Wright, Richard and Leah Thompson, Keri and Dennis Bell, Dana and Carl Miller, Tammy and Mike Breeden, Lacey and Earl Jenkins, Jennifer and Charles Kirkland and Taylor Benson. Step grandchildren Aaron Hunt and Alicia White. 15 great grandchildren. Brother Wayne Benson. The funeral service will be ay 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Bank Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Bailey and Rev. Chuck Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
