Wilda Nell Trotter St. Clair, 94, of Maryville passed away on December 28 after a brief illness. Nell was born in Cleveland, Georgia, in 1923 to Edward and Eunice Mae Trotter. After spending most of her childhood in Gainesville, Georgia, Nell attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and then moved to Atlanta to work in a law office. It was there, during World War II, that she met the young sailor, Garland St. Clair, who would become her husband for the next 57 years. Preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Nell is survived by her children - Ed (Darlene) St. Clair of Farragut and Barbara (Charlie) Barton of Maryville; her four grandchildren - Julia St. Clair (Jason Dobbs) of Nashville, Jonathan (Brit) St. Clair of Decatur, Georgia, Andy (Brandy) Barton of Maryville and Carrie (Nolin) Huddleston of Arlington, Virginia; and her four great-grandchildren - Drew Barton, June Huddleston, and Gavin and Norah St. Clair. A graveside service for family and friends will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Catherine Nance of Maryville First United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Welcome Table at First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Rd., Maryville 37803.
