Wayne W. Forshay

Wayne W. Forshay, age 94, passed away May 17, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He attended the University of Missouri before joining the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a longtime employee of United Airlines. He was a former member of Alcoa Kiwanis and a long time member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ethel Forshay; sisters, Maxine Stuart and Nadine Reynolds; also, his daughter-in-law, Gracie Forshay. Survivors include his wife, and best friend of 69 years, Bernice Davis Forshay; sons, Donald (Judy) Forshay and Richard (Dawn) Forshay; grandsons, Scott (Tiffany) Forshay and John (Heather) Forshay and 7 great-grandchildren. Also, granddaughter, Lindsey (Justin) James and great grandson. A service for family and friends will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at Grandview Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Doctor Stan Rushing officiating.
