Wayne Albert Tipsword

Wayne Albert Tipsword, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Navy in the Southwest Pacific and was a member of Sea Bee Navel Construction Battalion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Victoria Force Tipsword; brothers, Wilbur and Leroy Tipsword; sister, Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ivis Tipsword; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Ralph Benson and Shirley and Johnny Hall all of Maryville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Boyd, Valerie and Amy; great grandchildren, Taylor, Natalie, Brady, Tristan, Jarid, James, Carmen and Will. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Old Piney Cemetery with Rev. Carl White officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tennessee Army National Guard Funeral Honor Guard.
