Warren Ott Best, age 94, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Asbury Place. He was a longtime member at First Baptist Church of Maryville, a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre (India and Burma) during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Gladys Wilkerson Best; parents, Oscar and Ella Mae Best; sisters, Irene Borden, Jessie Ridge, and June Best; brothers, Boyd, Sam, and John Best. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dusty and Sandra Best, Robin and Sharon Best; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters, Una Vee Witt, Juanita Cagle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Jan Wilkerson; sister-in-law, BeeGee Wilkerson; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Centenary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
