Wanda S. Ridings

Wanda S. Ridings, born November 2, 1942 in Sunshine, KY. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2016 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed. She was a born again Christian and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she attended the "Happy Helpers" Sunday School Class. She retired after 20 years service with the IJ Company. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crafts, painting and was an avid photographer. She enjoyed volunteering at the Blount County Community Action Agency. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie A. Baker Sr. And Glessie Miracle Baker; grandsons, Cody S. Bowers, Brandon H. Long; granddaughter, Laci A. Long. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Lowell H. Ridings Jr.; daughters, Tami D. Bowers, Mitzi D. Long and husband Jimmy; grandchildren Casey M. Suarez and husband Paul, Cory Kirkland and husband Austin, Jamie Long and wife Leah, Kadie Keller and husband, Derek, Meghan Vaughn and husband Logan; great-grandchildren, Caden Chaney, Lincoln Suarez, Claire Kirkland, Braxton and Kael Long, Austin and Finnley Keller and Ruby and Abel Vaughn; brothers, Hershel Baker and wife Meghan, Leslie Baker Jr. and wife Cindy, Kenneth Baker and wife Sandy; sisters, Barbara Dunn and husband Bill; as well as many nieces and nephews. Special friend Mary Helen Taylor, with special thanks to care giver Ruth McMahan, Dr. Mark Green and staff and the Blount Memorial Hospice Team for the wonderful care provided for our wife and mother. The family will receive friends Monday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 with Rev. Greg Long officiating.
