DAVIS, Walter James “Walt”, age 71 of Walland, TN, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born October 10, 1931. He was retired from the Aluminum Company and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, he was a 1950 graduate of Porter High School and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Agnes Cummings Davis; brothers, J. W. Davis and Bill Davis; daughter, Debra Davis and father-in-law, Earl Murphy. Survivors include: wife, Linda Murphy Davis; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Ken Stinnett of Greenback, TN, Earlean and Terry Cummings of Maryville; sons, Johnie Lee Davis of Maryville, Walter J. “Chip” Davis, Jr. of Florida; grandchildren, Josh and Nadine Moore of Maryville, Lacie, LaRanda and LaShala Cummings of Maryville, Ashley Davis of Florida and Rebecca Davis of Virginia; great grandson, Nicolas Moore of Maryville; aunt, Georgia Gibson of Rockford; uncles, Bill Cummings of Seymour, TN and Tom Cummings of Florida; mother-in- law, Lillian Murphy of Maryville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dan Caldwell of Maryville; many cousins and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Gann and Rev. Ernest Condee officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
