Walter A. (Aggie) Spence

Walter (Aggie) Spence, born September 19, 1937, left us for Heaven on Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Virginia Ann Spence, as well as his parents Robert Edward and Jessie Rose Spence and several siblings. Married for more than 53 years, Aggie and Virginia worked together side-by-side and loved each other every day. They are now reunited, together forever. They are survived by daughter, Karen Spence (Sharon Wood) second-daughter, Betty Jones (Micky), granddaughters Rachael Jones (Deanne Revel) and Rebecca Jones. He will be greatly missed by several siblings and special extended family of John Wood, Tina Wood, Billy Betson, his sweet baby Opie, some amazing golf buddies and neighbors.

Aggie was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa and friend. Although he had a full career and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company, he was also known by many as a surveyor in the U.S. Army National Guard, skilled electrician, farmer, carpenter, and avid golfer. He could do almost anything, and was always eager to lend a hand or teach others. He always took pride in his work and never rested until the job was done.

A memorial service will be held at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2019. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to meet for interment at Carpenter's Cemetery in Maryville following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice.
