Vivienne Catherine Kassinger

Vivienne Catherine Kassinger, age 84, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Plainview and Setauket, NY, passed away January 20, 2012. In NY she was active at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Hicksville, past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Plainview Volunteer Fire Dept., worked at Abraham & Strauss Department Store and was a volunteer at Stony Brook hospital. In TN she became active in Faith Lutheran Church in Farragut, volunteered at Parkwest and UT hospitals. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed watching and traveling to all her grandchildren’s activities. Vivienne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Henry. Survivors include her three daughters: Gayle and husband Steve Pepper, Jill and husband Charles Sadler, Amy and husband Tim Jordan, her brother and sister-in-law Steve and Carol Goetz, sister-in-law Minerva Kassinger. Her grandchildren will especially miss her, Lorraine and husband Steven Tirino, Penny Coombes, Jenny and Chris Jordan, great grandchildren Marissa and Vincent Tirino, Matthew and Riley Coombes. Special family members include Judy Gauthier, Michele and Scott Birsner, their children Megan and Jason, Christine Hennessey and her daughter Alexis. Beyond the immediate family are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 pm at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home at 220 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801, 865-982-6812, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 and at Faith Lutheran Church in Farragut from 9-10 am on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Immediately following will be a celebration of life service at the church, officiated by Dr. Robert Stelter. Burial will follow at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
