Violet M. Poese

POESE, Violet M., age 96 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Shannondale Healthcare Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Praise Temple Assembly of God in Alcoa, TN. Survivors include her husband, Lester E. Poese of Knoxville; daughters, Carol J. Fry and husband Larry of Stewartstown, PA, Kathy Poese and husband Tom J. Rinehart of Knoxville; grandchildren, Taylor Rinehart, Jama Rinehart both of Knoxville, Jody Fry of Middleburgh, PA; nieces, Mrs. Gail Geijer of E. Brunswick, NJ, Mrs. Jane Reddecliff of Buchannon, WV; nephew, Ralph Quackenbush of Penhook, VA. Violet was born in New York City and grew up in Spotswood, NJ with her sister, Lillian. She graduated from Rider College, where she studied business. Violet was known for her love of classical music. She had a beautiful soprano singing voice and enjoyed church choral work throughout her life. She met her husband of 69 years while working as a secretary for a New Jersey corporation. Her husband’s job took them to several different states. She devoted her life to raising her two daughters and supporting her husband, to whom she was very dedicated. They retired in 1983 and moved to Maryville in 1989. She had a tender heart and a love of animals, always having an adopted animal in her care until her recent prolonged illness. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. H. Wayne Simmons officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Praise Temple Assembly of God, 1873 N.
