Vilma Calobrides Reagan

August 27, 1938 — June 11, 2023

Vilma Reagan passed away on June 11, 2023, after a long battle with multiple medical issues.

Vilma was born in Panama, in the city of Balboa in the Canal Zone. Her father was Miguel Calobrides. Her mother was Dora Maria Calobrides. Vilma had two siblings, a brother Miguel Calobrides and sister Adelina Maria Calobrides. Vilma married a U.S. Marine, Sgt. Bennie C. Reagan at 17 years of age. The newlyweds moved to the United States of America and were stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. They transferred to Southern California in the mid 60’s. During that time her husband was stationed at Marine Corps Air Stations in El Toro and Santa Ana and went to Viet Nam for two years. During that time Vilma was the sole caretaker of their children. While living in Baldwin Park, California she took us to the first “In and Out Burger”. Vilma Loved her Hamburgers. Vilma always loved her children and would do what she needed to provide for them. Vilma eventually received U.S. Citizenship and was very proud to be an American.

Vilma’s final moments were spent peacefully with her loved ones. She was known by all her friends and family for her smile and loving personality. Vilma (also known as Mom, Mama, Mamita, Princesa, Grandma, and Vilmita) will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others.

She is survived by her extensive family of Her children, William Reagan (Norene) Delsa Spence (John), Vilma “Mimi” Smolka (Michael), Kenneth Reagan (Donna), Dora Elizabeth Reagan (deceased), Carol Spence (Kent), Harold Reagan, and Luis Reagan. 18 Grandchildren, Sonya (Jake) Robert, Ben, Brittany, Brandon, Blake, Rebekah, Crystal (John), John Allen (Brittany), Eric, Richard, Stara, Ashton, Sean, Anna, Bennie, Lacey. 16 Great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
