Victoria (Vicki) Samburg Johnson, age 84, born November 3, 1927, died Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she was active in Presbyterian Women and a former Elder. She was retired from Maryville College where she served first as Assistant Secretary for President Ralph W. Lloyd and later as Assistant in the Student Services Office. She graduated from Montreat College in Montreat, NC, and attended Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA. Prior to coming to Maryville, she was Executive Secretary to the President of the Mountain Retreat Association and Montreat College in Montreat, NC, and previous to that a Director of Christian Education and Church Secretary at Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, VA. While in Maryville she served as Secretary on the Child and Family Services Board of Directors, CONTACT, and held various offices in Highland Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Friends of the Library and Bread for the World, a charter member of the World War II Memorial Society in Washington, DC, and the treasurer of Good Neighbors from 1996-2005. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Frank D. McClelland; parents, Charles W. and Edna E. Reed Samburg; brothers and sisters and stepson, Dr. Robert R. McClelland. Survivors include her husband, Lincoln M. Johnson of Maryville; stepson, Frank M. McClelland of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. On Monday, October 8, 2012, family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. at Maryville College Cemetery for a graveside service. The memorial service celebrating Vickis life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Providence Presbyterian Church, Maryville, with The Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson and The Rev. Dr. Stan Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends in the Atrium following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W.
