VIANN AUBER MITCHELL
ASHEVILLE – Viann Auber Mitchell, age 81, of Asheville, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
Mrs. Mitchell was born December 6, 1939 in Duval County Florida to the late Vincent Williams Auber, Sr. and Mertice Rosa Hubbard Auber. Viann was a resident of Florida for a number of years and later she lived in Georgia and Tennessee; she was a resident of Asheville for the past two years. Viann graduated from Emmanuel College in Royston Georgia at the age of 62. She loved flowers, gardening and writing poetry. She was a member of First Baptist Church Friendsville in Friendsville, TN; she attended Gateway Community Church in Asheville.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Mitchell who died in 2008; and grandson, Jacob Nobles.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Bussey and husband Rick of Asheville, Sharon Ann Nichols and husband Gerald of Murphy, and Margaret Hall and husband Jim of St. Augustine, FL; sons, Steve Cook and wife Avril of N. Scituate, RI, David Cook and wife Cecilia of Herndon, VA, and Matt Mitchell and wife Okchu of Athol, Idaho; grandchildren, Zachary Judkins, Tomos Cook, Caleb Bussey, Maegan McKenzie, and Shane Cook; and four great grandchildren.
Her graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 6, 2021 in Unitia Cemetery.. Reverend Bill Gowder of First Baptist Church of Friendsville, will officiate.
