Vernon Wayne Petree

Vernon Wayne Petree, 65, passed away on December 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Karen Petree; daughter, Heather and Brendon Marquis; daughter, April Petree; step-daughter, Laura and Shawn Farien; stepson, Brandon and Jennifer Everhart; Grandchildren, Aspen, Sierra, Mercy Rose, and Rowan; aunts, uncles, and cousins; best friend, Lon Fox; dog, Kavu. Born in Maryville, TN, raised in Asheville, NC and Buchanan, WV, preceded in death by parents Basil and Alma Petree. Vernon was a dedicated public servant volunteering with the Maryville/Alcoa Jaycees. He served as President of the Maryville/Alcoa Christmas Parade, board member of the Empty Pantry Fund, and member of East Maryville Baptist Church. Receiving of Friends at 5pm on December 23 at McAmmon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, funeral at 6pm. Graveside service at Kagley’s Chapel Cemetery Tuesday at 10am, December 24. “In lieu of flowers, please donate to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.”
