Verne Edward Cooper - age 70 of Louisville passed away at his sisters home in maryville Sunday, September 25, 2016 of Pancreatic cancer. He was a member of Zions Chapel Baptist Church for 18 years and was a life long resident of Blount County. Vern was employed by Children's Hospital for 42 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He spent many volunteer hours serving at Asbury Place Nursing Home. Verne was preceded in death by his parents, John Francis Cooper and Anna Belle Russell Cooper; brother, James Robert Cooper; grandparents, Griggs and Olive Retta Harmon; niece, Tammy Sue Gredig; nephew, Jamie Cooper. Survivors include his sister, Betty Sue Cooper of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, David and Evelyn Cooper; brother, Lloyd Cooper both of Louisville; nephews, Chris, Quinton, Eric, Adam, and Jonathan Cooper; nieces, Amber Goldberg, April Cooper, and Missy Gredig; many cousins, friends and church family. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Malone officiating. The interment will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday in Louisville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
