Velma Christine Waters Ward Trent

Trent, Velma Christine “Chris” Waters Ward, age 57 of Rockford, departed life on earth to be with her Savior, family and friends in Heaven on Monday, August 25, 2003, at her daughter’s home. Chris was a graduate of Walland High School and has been employed the last 14 years as a CNA for U.T. Hospital. Her husbands, Joe Allen Ward, Jr. and Jake H. Trent; her mother and daddy, Pauline Lawson Waters and Jake Waters and many family and friends were waiting to welcome Chris to her eternal reward where she will never suffer complications of pneumonia again. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Teressia and Scott Zack; son, Jacob Ward; sister, Violet Miles; brother, Hubert Waters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Mary Waters, Spears and Edith Waters and Arnold and Geraldine Waters; sister-in-law, Imogene Ward; granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Ward; grandkittens, Ebony, Cain and Abel; grandpuppy, Bachy; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Chris gave her life to the Lord when she was a young girl and has been faithfully serving Him at Maryville First Church of the Nazarene for many years. She loved to sing and has always made a joyful noise unto the Lord, even if she was a little off-key. Chris is singing in God’s choir now. A celebration of Chris’ life will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Maryville First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Wayne Rutherford, Rev. Ray Couey and Rev. J. B. Caylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Church. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at West Miller’s Cove Cemetery.
