Trygve Johann Tolnas

Trygve Johann Tolnas, age 80, passed away at home on Friday, October 11, 2013 with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by parents Gladys and Olaf Tolnas, brother Edwin Tolnas and infant daughter Joann Tolnas. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara McCammon Tolnas, daughter Carol Hunnicutt and husband Eric, of Madison, AL, son Barry Tolnas, and wife Roxanne from Seattle, WA, and grandchildren Eli and Kelly Hunnicutt, and Penelope Tolnas. Trygve was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Georgia Tech and was a licensed professional engineer. He worked at Alcoa for 34 years. He was an avid outdoors man. His passion was hiking and backpacking. He hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Canada through Washington and the Appalachian Trail from Georgia trough Virginia plus all 900 mile of trail in the Smokies. He will be remembered for his honesty and love for nature. His celebration of life will be at McCammon-Ammons Click Funeral Home Thursday, October 17 at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00pm Thursday. Ralph Lee will officiate.
