Trula Maxine Hall

Hall, Trula Maxine Allen, age 77 of Maryville, died Sunday, May 19th , 2002 at her home. Tennessee’s First Lady of Auctioneer Passes Away- Going Once, Going Twice, Gone!. She was a female pioneer before the internet and E-Bay. Trula Hall, the first lady auctioneer in Tennessee passed away Sunday May 19th at her home in Maryville Tennessee. Mrs. Hall and her husband Carl owned and operated Carl’s Furniture and Auction for over 30 years before he passed away in 1990. She semi-retired from auctioneering in December, 1991, but continued the auction chant whenever called upon to do so. Both Colonel Halls were well known throughout the south . Mrs. Hall was the 287th person to become a licensed Tennessee Auctioneer and Mr. Hall was the 288th. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in- law, Sheila and Ronnie Hall of Maryville, Sharon and Lester Word of Alcoa, Debbie and Jay Gregory of Maryville; daughter, Patricia Ryan of Alcoa; sons and daughters-in-laws, Jim and Connie Allen of Alcoa, and Terry and Theresa Allen of Maryville; son, Gary Allen of Friendsville. Grandchildren: Janet Fraze, Travis Ryan, Shawn and Alexandra Allen, Amy Allen, Robert and Christopher Word, Brandon and Brandi Allen, Tiffany Tallent; 4 great grandchildren; stepdaughter, sons, and families, Mildred Iva Lee Vickery, David, Ted and Everette Hall; sisters, Joyce Carroll of St. Augustine, FL, Ernestine Owen of Corpus Christie, TX., and Ann Bennet and Louise Tindell both of Maryville. The funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Bartl officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
