Tommy Wayne Hodge, 82 of Maryville, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Tommy attended Dotson Memorial Church and was a member for many years.
Tommy was born in Jefferson County on August 14, 1941. He worked for ALCOA as a supervisor in the pot rooms for almost 25 years. Tommy and his brother, Bill Hodge formed Smoky View Enterprises. Together they built and operated Smoky View Market and West Gate Market. They were entrepreneurs in the video rental business, owning and operating stores in Maryville, Knoxville, and Morristown. The brothers also developed commercial and residential real estate. Tommy loved his family and worked tirelessly to provide for them. Everyone that met Tommy loved him.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Wanda Latham Hodge; daughter, LaDonna (Steve) Stamper; son, Shaun; grandchildren, Cameron (Lori) Perkins, Caitlin (Cole) Loveday, and Schuyler Stamper; great-grandchildren, Olive Perkins, Cody Perkins, Saulomon Perkins, and Jackson Perkins; dear sister, Maxine Byrum; special sister-in-law, Fonda Hatcher and family; many nieces and nephews that were dear to Tommy’s heart; close friends, RJ and Judy Byrum.
Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU Unit at Blount Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and support during Tommy’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and the service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Charles Roy Murrell officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Laurel Bank Cemetery.
