Thomas Nevin Hord age 83 of Maryville born May 26, 1935, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his home. He was a 1953 graduate of Alcoa High School, attended Maryville College, and was in the Naval Reserves. He was an avid golfer through out his life and in earlier years he also enjoyed fishing. He began a career in Real Estate with Alcoa Realty, followed by becoming a contractor and building several homes including his own in the Blount County area. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Mary Lee Hord; brothers, Charles Hord and Robert Hord. Survived by wife of 37 years, Shelby Hord; daughters, Kimberly Myers, Dana Reynolds (John), and Julie Moore (Johnny); step son, Johnny Webb; step daughter, Stacie Webb Long (Tommy); brother, Ray Hord; sister, Mary Nell Hord Campbell; grandchildren, Jennifer Williams (Dwight), Jessica Ward, Julianna Moore, Amanda Bush, Laurel Bush, Jeff Roberts, Rachel Roberts, and Emma Webb; beloved dog, Marley. Family and friends will meet 11:00AM Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Grandview Mausoleum for entombment services with Rev. Joe Green officiating. Special thank you to Dr. Jane Souther for your diligence and compassion in his care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Blount County Animal Shelter.
