BLACK, Thomas J. “Tom”, age 98 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, he was founder of Black’s Radiator Service in Maryville and was subsequently self-employed with Jobbers’ Service in Knoxville until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Greenback Masonic Lodge # 691 for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth B. Black. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald R. and Natha Black of Atlanta and David T. and Marty Black of Rockford; grandchildren, Thomas N. Black, Sharon B. Neidhammer, Jonathan Black, Stephen Black, Charlotte B. Grzebien and Elizabeth Cannon Black; great grandchildren, Allison, Miranda and Peyton Neidhammer, Richard Ted Black and Kimberlyn Black. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Oakland United Methodist Church, 234 Trigonia Road in Greenback. The entombment will follow in Grandview Mausoleum in Maryville. Friends and family will be received at the home of Marty and David Black following the entombment service on Saturday.
