June 6, 2002 WARE, Thomas C. “Tom”, of Maryville, TN, passed away at home Wednesday, June5, 2002, at 4:12 p.m. He was a member of the Clintonville Christian Church in Paris, KY. Mr. Ware was an avid bass fisherman, successful basketball coach and a member of the “coalbuckets” entertainment group. He taught in the Blount County School system for 26 years and was recently honored as William Blount Middle School Teacher of the Year. On April 9th, 2002, the Blount County Board of Education further acknowledged his contribution by naming the William Blount Middle School Gymnasium in his honor. He was a positive influence on the lives of both students and young athletes and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Carol and son, Bill both of Maryville; mother, Lorena Ware of Paris, Ky; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Shirley Ware; nephews, Shane Ware and wife Crystal, Scott Ware and wife Tara; niece, Wendee Ware; great nephews and niece, Allie, Andrew and A. J.; grandfather, Andy Hatfield of Paris, KY. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Clintonville Christian Church in Paris, KY with Rev. Bill Hawkins officiating. The interment will follow in Clintonville Cemetery in Paris, KY. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN. The family will also receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Lusk McFarland Funeral Home in Paris, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909 or to the Tom Ware Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Judy Dunlap, 116 S. Longhollow Road, Maryville, TN 37801. Pall Bearers will be Marty Carpenter, Tony Chambers, Doyle Dunlap, Charles Finley, Eddie Gilbert, Wendell Huffstetler. Honorary Pall Bearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Clintonville Christian Church and Jim Alexander and David Wagoner.
