Lauver, Teresa Sivils - age 91, of Alcoa, died January 1, 2003 at her home. A member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church, she was active for many years as a Sunday school teacher, circle leader, and president of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was born at her maternal grandparents' home near LaFollette and grew up as a ''preacher's kid'' in towns across East Tennessee and North Georgia. She attended Tennessee Wesleyan College before working as a telephone operator and member of the Clinton Courier News staff. Preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Murl Lauver; parents, the Rev. and Mrs. M. L. Sivils; and brothers Dr. Albert Sivils of Copperhill and Dr. George Sivils of Chattanooga. Survived by son and daughter-in-law David and Susan Lauver of F arragut; grandchildren Will and Mary Emily Lauver; sister Elizabeth Moody of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law Mary Sivils of Copperhill and Elizabeth Sivils of Chattanooga; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family expresses thanks to caregivers, friends, and staff and volunteers of Blount Memorial Hospice. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 with funeral services to follow at 2:30 in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel, The Rev. Joseph Green will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa.
