Susanna Morris Stanton Montgomery

July 23, 1917 — November 23, 2005

MONTGOMERY, SUSANNA MORRIS, nee STANTON, age 88 of Maryville and Naples, Florida, passed away November 23, 2005 at Morningview Transitional Care Center, Maryville. Mrs. Montgomery was born in Woodbury, New Jersey and was raised a Quaker. She attended Westtown School in Westtown PA and then moved to Crossville, TN in 1934 where her father, William Macy Stanton, was the architect for The Homestead. Mrs. Montgomery graduated from the University of Tennessee where she met Mr. Montgomery, who became a partner with his father in the Montgomery - Blackwood Insurance Agency, a Maryville city councilman and a local real estate developer. Mrs. Montgomery resided in Maryville for 58 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Barkley Montgomery, Jr.; her parents, William Macy and Edith Cope Stanton; her brother, William Macy Stanton, Jr.; her sister, Mary Cope Stanton; her granddaughter, Rebecca Malinda Trotter and her son-in-law, Frank J. Fumia, M.D.. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her children: Joseph Barkley Montgomery, III and his wife Alice; Susanna Morris Trotter and her husband James; Macy Stanton Montgomery; and Edith Malinda Fumia; grandchildren: Joseph Barkley Montgomery, IV and his wife Kara; Cynthia Montgomery Georghiou and her husband Christos; Susanna Morris Schnieder and her husband Wayne; James Otis Trotter, Jr. and his wife Colleen; Andrew Joseph Trotter; WIlliam Montgomery Trotter; Danielle Sciaretta; Francis James Fumia, IV and Malinda Stanton Fumia; great grandchildren: Ally Marie and Hannah Katrina Montgomery; Stavros Temenos Georghiou; Hunter Wayne Schnieder; and Annamarie Elizabeth Trotter. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, at Magnolia Cemetery for a graveside service. Friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
