Sue Ellis Booher Smith, age 94 of Maryville, TN, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013. She was born in Knoxville, TN on November 9, 1918, to Harry David and Mary Smith Ellis. Sue was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden. She was retired from the University of Tennessee Food Services where she managed both Strong Hall and Morrill Hall cafeterias. Sue was preceded in death by husband, Harry Abrams, Jacob Booher, Sr., and C. W. Smith. Jake was a long time pressman for the Knoxville Journal and News Sentinel. C. W. was the founder of C. W. Smith and Sons Construction. Sues children would like to thank Gordon and Cynthia Smith, Charlotte and Bill Petty, Rosemary and Fred Beaver and Fannie Smith for their ongoing love and support of Sue after the passing of Mr. Smith. Sue was also preceded in death by sister, Phillippa Ellis Quisenberry; brother, William Thomas Ellis and son, Jacob Booher, Jr. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Ramona Smith and husband Earl of Dana, NC; son, David Booher of Davis, CA; son, Robert Booher and wife Donna of Maryville; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Until 3 weeks prior to her death Sue was able to remain at home due to the excellent care she received from special care-givers Pat, Susan, Denise and Charlsey. Sues family would like to express their deepest appreciation to them, Dr. Jim Proffitt, Dr. Bill Moore and the wonderful staff at Fairpark who provided comfort and support to Mrs. Smith and her family during Sues final days.
