Stephenson S. Turner, Sr.

June 3, 1916 — May 14, 2007

TURNER SR., Stephenson Smith, age 90 of Maryville, passed away May 14, 2007, at Blount Memorial Hospital. This honest, humble, hard-working, courteous World War II veteran served as Business Manger for Tusculum University, Greeneville, TN; Comptroller, Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, VA; Financial Aid Officer, Lambuth University, Jackson, TN and Business Assistant for John Allen Construction Company, Jackson, TN. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather; a faithful Christian and church member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville. He was a model of what all husbands, fathers and men should be. He was a native of Memphis, TN, the son of Frederick K. Turner and Olivia S. Turner. He was preceded in death by the love of his life for fifty-seven years, his wife, Lue Vera Turner. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Stephenson S., Jr. and Victoria Turner of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Joseph Hudson of Puryear, TN, Katherine and Dr. Robert Fuller of Plattsburgh, NY; grandchildren, Carl Hudson, Kirk Hudson and wife Rena, Stephanie Turner, Russell Fuller, Rachel Fuller; great grandson, Jacob Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick K. and Lucy Turner of Metairie, LA. A celebration service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Pastors Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating. A private interment service for family will be held at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church.
