Sidney L. Johnson peacefully passed away at Foothills Transitional Care in Maryville Tennessee on March 7th at the age of 95. Sidney was born in St. Paul, MN to Swedish parents, Enok and Anna Johnson. He had lived in several states over his lifetime. He is a WWII veteran who enlisted in the Navy and served in Chicago and on the USS Missouri. He retired from a long career in Radio Communications, starting in the Navy.
Sidney is from a very close family and was the sole survivor of three brothers who married three sisters. He had a great love for his family as he raised his daughter and later his three grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years Betty Louise, his daughter Nancy Quinlan and grandsons Joshua and Jamie Quinlan. He is also preceded by his brothers Gordon ( Marjorie) Johnson, Russell ( Mary) Johnson and sister Roxanne (Jimmy) Thompson.
Sidney is survived by his grandson Michael Quinlan and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for family and friends on Friday March 11th from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville, Tennessee. There will be a private interment at a later date in the family plot in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The family would like to especially thank the staff from Hospice who provided support to Sidney in his final days.
