Shirley Faye Proffitt Anderson

Shirley Faye Proffitt Anderson, age 83 departed this life for her eternal home on June 29, 2022, at Life Care Center of Blount County. Shirley was born July 7, 1938, in Sevierville. She was the daughter of Arthur Proffitt and Berthan McCarter Proffitt. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Milas; her parents; brothers, Olin Proffitt, Hugh Proffitt.

She is survived by a brother, Rex Proffitt (Lucille); son, Wayne Anderson (Connie) of Knoxville; daughter, Brenda Anderson Janeway (Stanley) of Maryville; grandsons, Ray, Mark, DJ, AJ; great-grandchildren, Braden, Harper, Carson. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to the staff at Life Care Center of Blount County and Hospice Services at UT Medical Center for the wonderful care you gave to Shirley.

Shirley was married to Milas Edward Anderson for 55 years at the time of his death on December 24, 2016, in Orlando, FL. Milas’s remains and Shirley will be interred at the same time and location at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2nd at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Alcoa Highway with Rev. Greg Long and Rev. Tom Stanley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Blount County Animal Shelter.
