Sharon Lynn Carr

"Sharon Lynn Carr died on January 8, 2023, at the age of 74, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.

Sharon is survived by her nephews and niece; her nephews, Chris Corbin, Justin Corbin (wife Carlyn Corbin and children Allister, Virginia Mae, Mary Louise, and Ainsley Kate), Joshua Corbin; her niece Danielle Corbin (husband Shane and children Vera and June); and her brother-in-law David Corbin and his wife Connie. She is predeceased by her husband, James Earl Carr; her son, William Edward Carr; her sister, Linda Kay Corbin; and her parents, John William and Dorothy Hutchison.

Sharon was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on January 25, 1948. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1966; she worked in Arlington, Virginia, at the US Patent Office and for various defense contractors. On January 22, 1973, she married James Earl, a US Army veteran, and they were married until his death in 2018. On September 15, 1973, she welcomed her son William Edward (Eddy), who tragically died on December 13, 1991. James Earl (Jim) and Eddy were the great loves of her life, and she missed them dearly.

Sharon had a bright and caring soul, and she had a way of making those around her feel loved and cared for. She possessed sharp wit and an endearing sense of humor that often helped her cope with difficult circumstances. She was a spiritual person and was involved in her home church of Calvary Baptist in Alcoa, Tennessee. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, at Calvary Baptist Church (100 S Rankin Rd, Alcoa, Tennessee, 37701). Reverend Greg Williamson will officiate. "
