Scott Ernest Carpenter

Scott Ernest Carpenter, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. Scott was a loving father, a free thinker, and a patriot. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a prominent Bigfoot researcher and author who was loved and respected by many, and an avid hiker, hunter, and fisherman. Most of all, he was a Christian who loved Jesus. Because of this, we have the blessed hope of seeing him again in the heavenly home that God has prepared for us all.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. Carpenter and Eleanor Hodge Carpenter. He is survived by his son, Travis (Rebecca) Carpenter; daughter Miranda Carpenter; granddaughters, Maddox and Eden Carpenter; brother, Doug (Deanna) Carpenter; sister, Traci Carpenter; significant other, Sally Ann Williford; niece, Holly Carpenter; and many cousins and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8th at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN, with memorial service to follow. Graveside service will be private.
