Sandra (Sandy) June Carver

Sandra (Sandy) June Carver, 84, of Maryville entered her heavenly home on July 20th, 2023. Known for her beautiful smile and sweet spirit, she let her light shine brightly. Born August 1st, 1938, in Swain County NC. Her family later relocated to Maryville TN. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1956. She enjoyed playing basketball and softball. She married her high school sweetheart Jim Carver and was a devoted wife and mother to three daughters. In addition to raising a family she was a school bus driver in Will County Illinois and later worked with the Election Commission in Blount County TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years James Carver, daughter Cheryl Wellington, parents Ernest and Elizabeth Rose Hall, brothers Bill (Marlene) McCoy and Goldman (Ruth) Hall.

She is survived by daughters Donna Stanfield and Susan (Patrick) Mason, daughter-in-law Elserean Wellington, brothers Kenny McCoy and Mack (Mattie) Hall, sister Wanda (Bill) Liggett, grandchildren Mike, Paul, Kyle, Kassie, great grandchildren Noelle and Nolan, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Sybil Hall; extended family in Illinois, and numerous special friends.

Sandra was a member at Six Mile Baptist Church where she served faithfully, teaching a senior Bible study class and vacation Bible school. She loved singing in worship. Sandy enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors- fishing, hunting, gardening, playing horseshoes, swimming and bird watching. She had a green thumb and took pleasure in tending plants. She was a wonderful cook and gracious host that loved gathering with friends and family. Her joyful personality radiated warmth and kindness and blessed the lives of all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, from 5-7pm at McCammon- Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Pastor Bill White officiating.

There will be a private burial at Carpenters Cemetery.
