Samuel Eugene Garland, Jr.

Samuel Eugene Garland, Jr. of Louisville TN, entered his heavenly home on May 18th, 2024. Sam Jr. was the beloved son of the late Sam and Nell Garland, of Maryville TN, and beloved brother and uncle “Junior”. He is also preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Lyda Cummings and Clay and Johnny Mae Garland.

He is survived by his sister Tammy Hearon, with her husband Robert, and his sister Pam Nichols, with her husband John. He is also survived by his nephew Matt Hearon, and his wife Stephanie, with their children Samuel and Lydia, and his nephew Jonathan Nichols, and his wife Jennifer, and their children Amelia, Penelope, Elizabeth, and Jack, all in Maryville. He is also survived by his Aunt Betty Baker and uncle Hubert Garland, with wife Catherine.

Sam Garland retired from Kroger in Alcoa, in 2001, and was the owner of Gracie’s Grooming and Kennels. He was a member of Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a proud resident of the town of Louisville. Sam was well known for his love of animals; over his life he rehomed or adopted many animals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blount County Humane Society. 

Everyone is welcome to attend the graveside service at Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 Carpenters Grade Road, in Maryville, on Friday, May 24, at 11am.
