Sam Burton Mccollum Jr.

McCollum Jr. , Sam Burton, age 84 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a 50 year member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, retired from Star Construction Co. , and a veteran of World War II.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie McCollum. Parents, Sam B. Sr. And Ruth G. McCollum. Son, Sam B. McCollum III. Sister, Esther Ferguson. Brother, Howard McCollum. Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Phillip Benefield of Nashville. Daughter, Becky McCollum Gibson of Maryville. Grandchildren, Joseph and Grayson Fagan. Nieces and nephews, Jean Beaulieu, Tom Ferguson, David Ferguson, Dotty Parton, and Kay Wade. A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Monday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Philip Bembower , Rev. Steve Musick, and Rev. Joe Colquitt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
