Sally Poplin Garner

Garner, Sally Poplin, age 84 of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Kagley’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Garner, longtime Baptist minister and associated with McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home for 43 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Fred H. Garner; parents, John and Jenny Poplin; brothers, Claude, Millard, Henry, Fillmore, John and Earl Poplin; sister, Mae Best. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis (Bill) Franklin, Carolyn (Wayne) Buchanan; son, Dennis (Ellen) Garner; grandchildren, Tim (Robin), Jeff (Janie) Franklin, Jamey (Jason) Blair, Beth Buchanan (Adam Garrett), Cory and Casey Garner; great-grandchildren, Jesse Franklin, Lucas and Garner Blair, Cole Garrett and (6) great step-grandchildren; sister, Lula Smith; sister-in-law, Mildred Poplin; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. Thursday with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A private interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
