Sally Gideon Sayles passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, a loving and generous mother and beloved grandmother. Sally was born in Maryville, TN on October 30, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents John Robinson Gideon and Madge Morton Gideon. Sally graduated from Alcoa High School in 1960 and attended the Women's College of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Sally worked as a Deputy Registrar in the Blount County Election Commission and most recently served on the Blount County Election Commission. Sally was an avid reader who also enjoyed talking politics, Big Orange football, and cooking early morning breakfasts in Cades Cove. Sally was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children, Susan and Tom Bihl, Brad and Christi Sayles, and Sara and Jim Coon, and her grandchildren, Andy and Emily Bihl, Jack and Julia Sayles, and Harrison, Caroline, and David Coon. Thank you to the neighbors and friends who have been so supportive over the past several years. Sally never met a stranger and was blessed to have enjoyed many lifelong friendships. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-3pm at McCammon-Ammons- Click Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow with Rev. Emily Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blount Hospice and Palliative Care Fund, 907 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804.
