Ruth Y. Morton

MORTON, Ruth Y, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 after an extended illness. She was a longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church. Mrs. Morton lived her entire life in the Maryville community. She was the former owner/operator of the “Classic” Hair Salon in Maryville and enjoyed a lifetime of gardening and travel, having visited all 50 U.S. states with her husband Ben. She excelled at many crafts including painting and was an accomplished square dancer. Preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Mae Yearout, husband and loving companion Ben G. Morton, sisters Wanda Amburn and Omie Brewer Corda. Survived by daughter, Joyce Wiggins and son-in-law, Bob Wiggins. Granddaughter Kim Matlock and husband Rex. Great grandchildren Cassidy and Keagan Matlock. Brother Ervil Yearout, D.A. Yearout, and Wayne Yearout; brother-in-law Claude Amburn, sisters Margaret Giffin and Dena Early; several special nieces and nephews including Steve and Chris Early. Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. George Macht officiating. The interment will be 2:00 PM Sunday in Grandview Cemetery.
