Ruth Embree Swingle Mink

May 21, 1919 — March 22, 2005

MINK, Ruth Embree Swingle, age 85 of Maryville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2005. She was a native of Southwest Virginia where she was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marion, and, more recently, became a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville, Tennessee. Her interests included cooking, sewing, flower gardening and vegetable gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Embree and Mary Dent Swingle; husband, Leonard Myers Mink; son, James Rodgers Mink; sisters, Elizabeth Swingle Peugeot of Johnson City, Tennessee and Virginia Swingle Logan of Irwin, Tennessee. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Marilyn Mink of Boydton, Virginia, Leonard and Cathy Mink of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ray Colclough of Walland, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. A graveside service will take place at Roselawn Cemetery in Atkins, Virginia on Friday, March 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Organ Fund of First United Methodist Church of Maryville, 804 Montvale Station Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
