Ruth Curtis Steele

Ruth Curtis Steele, age 88 of Alcoa, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. She was a member of Maryville First Christian Church and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #133 Mary Blount. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Steele and parents, James Chester Curtis and Bessie Newell Rasar Curtis. Survivors include her foster daughter, Brenda LeQuire Raper and husband Mike of Greenback; granddaughter, Melissa McKenna and husband Tom; grandson, David LeQuire and wife Felisha; 5 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; special niece, Brenda Whitehead and husband Wendell; nieces, Betty Dalton of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie Cantrell of Maryville, Joyce Oxendine of Knoxville; nephew, Francis Garner and wife Norma; several great and great great nieces and nephews; special great great niece and caregiver, Hayley Murphy. The family wishes to express special thanks to Fairpark Healthcare Center and Staff for the excellent care that was given to her. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Harold Ray officiating. The interment will follow in Union Grove Baptist Cemetery (Big Gulley).
