Russell Leon Tucker

Russell Leon Tucker, age 89, of Alcoa, Tennessee passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 12th 2015. He was born January 13, 1926 in Dyer County, Tennessee, was a graduate of Dyersburg High Class of 1943 and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1953 as a Civil Engineer. He worked for TVA, River One Management for 36 years and also served in the Air Force, Air Force Reserve and 134th Air Refueling Group, Tennessee Air National Guard, retiring as a Lt. Col. in 1986. He enjoyed photography, hunting, hiking, boating, water skiing, and blackberry picking. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Martha; parents Charles and Irene Burchfield Tucker; brother, Max Tucker; stepson, Patrick O'Bleness. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Michael O'Bleness (Tammy) of Park Hall, MD, Nancy Bradley (Greg) of Maryville, TN, Mike Tucker of Anchorage, AK, Charlotte Tucker of Charlotte, NC, Christina Redden (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Tucker (Bobbi) of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Cuddy of Columbus, OH, and Corrine Irvan of Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. December 16th at the East TN Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway United Methodist Church for The Brown Food Pantry, Family Promise or Helping Hands.
