Rudy Stephen Trbovich, Knoxville, TN, son of the late Robert and Margaret Trbovich, went to be with the Lord November 27, 2016. Mr. Trbovich began a baseball career as a youngster participating in American Legion teams and pitched for East Liverpool (Ohio) High School, where he was later inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. He was recruited by The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he was considered their "ace right-hander," and later played professionally in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league. Mr. Trbovich graduated from UT with a bachelor's degree in transportation and is a former president of the Knoxville Jaycees. Along with a lengthy career in transportation sales, he enjoyed spending time with friends at McDonald's Billiards and Smoky's Squires Club. He is survived by his wife of 58 years June Dyer Trbovich; daughters Anna Marie Haese (Kenny), Diane Harney (Bruce) and Lisa Batts (Brian); grandchildren Brice Harney, Brittany Haese, Brent Harney, Brayden Batts, Brianna Batts; brother Robert "Duddy" Trbovich; and sister Carolan Trbovich. The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, Knoxville, TN, where Mr. Trbovich was a member since 1964. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Lake Hills Presbyterian Church or Adler Aphasia Center at www.adleraphasiacenter.org.
