Ruby Jewel Butler Russell December 12, 1925 - June 25, 2019

Ruby Jewel Butler Russell, age 93 of Maryville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Earl Russell; parents, Charles and Nora Butler; daughter, Patricia Ann Russell; grand-daughter, Amanda Whitehead Rhea; and siblings Homer, Francis, Jessie, Charles, Jr., Clarence Shorty, Mildred, Frank, & Norena. She is survived by her daughters: Earlene Whitehead and Debbie (Ted) Owens; grandchildren: Brandy Everett, Russell (Amanda) Whitehead, and Chris (Melissa) Payne; great-grandchildren: Chandler (Jake) Blankenship, Hunter (Whitney) Kerr, Bodie Rhea, Emma Whitehead, Jerry Moss, III, Braden & Walker Payne, and Easton Whitehead; great-great grandchild: Oaklynn Kerr; and soon-to-be great-great grandchildren: Adalynn Kerr and Campbell Blankenship; brother: Bob (Nancy) Butler of Kansas. Also, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Ruby was a life-long member of Piney Level Baptist Church. Her family would like to thank Dr. Mark Green; BMH Hospice and Traci.

Through her love and generosity, Ruby touched the lives of her family, friends, and strangers alike. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she loved unconditionally. Her husband and family were her pride and joy, and she faithfully cared for them her entire life. Ruby enjoyed the company of friends and family playing cards, picnicking, & visiting her beloved Cage (Cades) Cove. Affectionately referred to as the Queen by her great-grandchildren, Ruby will certainly be missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and the service to follow with Rev. Danny Gregory officiating. The interment will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Piney Level Baptist Church.
