ENDSLEY, Roy W., born September 12, 1914, died Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in Okinawa and the Philippines. He was co-owner and operator of the family business, Endsley Marble Company in Friendsville and also served as Mayor for the City of Friendsville for 6 years. He was preceded in death by his father, W. H. (Bill) Endsley; mother, Oela Jones Endsley; wife of 61 years, Virginia Endsley; infant daughter; brother, Leonard Endsley. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jim Hannah of Lenoir City; sister, June Koontz of Alcoa; grandson and wife, Scott and April Hubbard of Knoxville; grandson, Kenneth Hubbard of NY; step grandson and wife, Lee and Kelly Hannah of Lenoir City; four great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Friendsville Friends (Quaker) Church, where he was a life time member, with Pastor Jackie Midkiff and Pastor Larry Fowler officiating. The interment will follow at the Friendsville Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
