Robert Vernon Lunsford, Jr.

On April 17, 2020 Robert V. Lunsford Jr. reached his final destination.

He was preceded in death by Robert V. Lunsford Sr., grandparents Henry Alfred and Minnie Lee (Ramsey) Lunsford of Tallassee, TN, Jess and Esma (Wells) Griffitts of Wellsville, TN. Robert is survived by his mother, Wanda Griffitts Lunsford, his children, Christopher Lunsford and Jessica Lunsford Higginbotham and son-n-law, Logan Higginbotham, sister and brother-n-law, Michelle and Jason Lewis, niece, Savannah Lee Lewis, aunt Gwen Griffitts Johnson, and several close cousins.

Robert Lunsford would say there is only one football team: Georgia Bulldogs. He was an avid football fan. Robert played as punter for Rossville High School while living in Georgia. There he earned names like “Thunderfoot” and “Boot” from his teammates. After high school, Robert served his country in the US Airforce. He worked for TeamHealth for the past 18 years. Robert loved the outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking with his friends.

Robert will mostly be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and fear of bears.

No funeral services will be held. However, a celebration of life will be held tentatively scheduled for July 2020. Details will be posted Facebook when we are able to gather together.
